Boater Safety Course Available Online to Local Residents

Assemblyman Will Barclay announced that interested constituents can take the New York State boater safety course online.

Previously, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation required boat operators to attend eight-hour sessions in a classroom.

“The video instruction and diagrams make boater education accessible and easy to understand. Hopefully, it’s a time-saver for people and a little more convenient too,” said Barclay.

To access the online course, visit https://www.boat-ed.com/newyork/

Once the course is completed online, a temporary certificate may be printed while waiting for an official certificate from the state in the mail.

The cost for the course is $29.50. missing or outdated ad config
