MEXICO, NY – Oswego County BOCES Special Education Department celebrates the end of summer school with a Hawaiian-themed Ho`olaule`a or celebration.
Traditional Hawaiian music played as students and staff gathered for an afternoon of food and fun.
Learning about the Hawaiian culture, students dined on authentic Hawaiian cuisine and donned name tags with their first names translated to Hawaiian.
Following the feast, students dashed from activity to activity; bouncing balls into coconut cups, bowling, throwing fruit through rings, and tossing bean bags onto a game board.
Taking a break from the flurry of activities, some students gathered to watch a slide show of pictures from their time in the summer school program.
