FULTON – Books, scholarships, certificates and more memories were on display during the 36th annual G. Ray Bodley High School academic awards evening.

Several students in grades nine through 12 were honored for exhibiting positive character education traits, excellence in academic classes, athletics, service to community, acts of kindness, overall improvement and leadership.
Principal Donna Parkhurst said the evening celebrated dozens of Fulton’s finest high school students who have proven to be role models for their peers.
Junior Jenna Ruzekowicz was one stand-out honoree.
Her commitment to schooling earned her the following awards: academic excellence in Onondaga Community College pre-calculus, academic excellence in physics, the Rochester Institute of Technology Innovation and Creativity Award, which included a potential $28,000 scholarship; academic excellence in French 4A, Lt. Col. Joseph P. Fuss Outstanding Leadership Award, which came with a $250 check and a book and the Clarkson University High School Achievement Award, which came with a scholarship up to $48,000.

The Class of 2018’s valedictorian Jacob Geitner and salutatorian Madison Lang also earned several honors, as did underclassman Samantha McRae, who was awarded the Attorney General Triple “C” Award for her outstanding character, courage and commitment to GRB and the community; academic excellence in biology, the President’s Award for Educational Excellence and was recognized as one of the top 25 students of the Class of 2021.
Several GRB teachers and administrators introduced each awardee, all of whom represented a broad spectrum of the entire student body.
More than $800,000 in scholarships and other monetary awards were offered at the event, as well as a handful of books and countless certificates of honor.
After the top 25 students from the freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior classes were recognized, students, their families and special guests enjoyed light refreshments.
