FULTON, NY – The United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Success By 6 program received a much-needed donation of children’s books recently as the result of a book drive held Sept. 26 and 27 at Wal-Mart in Granby.

Volunteers from Wal-Mart were on hand both days collecting donations of new and gently used children’s books.
The books will be distributed to children throughout the year as Success By 6, an initiative that strives to improve the early childhood development of children throughout Oswego County, works to encourage literacy and introduce children to the joys of reading.
“We truly appreciate the support that we receive from the community and the wonderful volunteer team at the Granby Wal-Mart,†said Mary Tetro of the United Way. “More than 40 Wal-Mart employees volunteered their time over the two days and collected more than 20 boxes of books. Thanks to their efforts and the generosity of those who donated books many children will be able to experience the pleasure of reading.â€Â
