Bottles & Cans Feed Hungry Youngsters

OSWEGO – “It’s amazing that just cleaning up around the house can feed children,” says Erin’s Angels program director Brittney Benedict. “When we partnered with Can Make Money Redemption, we had no idea how much money we’d generate just from our supporters donating their cans and bottles to our non-profit. We’ve generated enough this year to provide weekend meals to 65 kids for a month. Our supporters are wonderful.”

“We’re honored to help Erin’s Angels,” says Can Make Money Redemption’s manager, Margie. “We work with a lot of non-profit organizations in the area, and few of them have the kind of impact that Erin’s Angels makes.”

Erin’s Angels is headquartered in Phoenix, NY. Their mission is to unite people and resources to make food, education, and opportunity a right for every child. They provide resources to food insecure children in Oswego County and surrounding areas, sometimes through other groups and organizations.

“We’ve processed over 21,000 refundable units for Erin’s Angels this year,” says Margie. “If those bottles went into a landfill – or worse, were simply discarded along a roadway – they would cause damage to the environment for years to come. By donating them to Erin’s Angels and other non-profit organizations, people are providing funds to important community organizations while helping to keep nature pure for future generations. And helping the next generation is exactly the goal of Erin’s Angels.”
