Bowl For Fun – And A Good Cause

OSWEGO, NY – Oswego County Opportunities hosts its ninth annual Bowl-A-Fun on Saturday, April 10, at Lakeview Lanes in Fulton.

This popular fundraiser generates $15,000 – $20,000 each year to help support OCO’s more than 50 programs and services.

This money has a direct, positive impact on the more than 24,000 people who receive services from OCO each year.

Did you know that 94 cents of every dollar that comes into OCO, goes directly to help consumers of our programs?

You can rest assured that your donations are making a difference. Your support helps provide:

  • Meals for senior citizens
  • Transportation to work, school and appointments
  • Independent living for disabled adults
  • Two 24-hour crisis hotlines
  • A place to stay for homeless 16- to 21-year-olds
  • Health insurance enrollment for the uninsured and under-insured
  • Cancer screenings for those who can’t afford them
  • Job readiness preparation
  • Assistance to complete high school/GED
  • Mentoring for elementary school students
  • Head Start preschool classes
  • Funds for healthy foods through WIC (Women, Infants and Children)

There are many more programs than I’m able to list here.

As Oswego County’s Community Action Agency, we’re involved in all ages and stages of life, lifting people out of poverty and helping them prepare for fulfilling and productive futures.

We are extremely grateful for the tremendous community support.

Your donations mean a great deal to many residents of Oswego County, where 17,000 residents live at or below the federal poverty line.

Please help us continue our mission: “helping people, supporting communities, changing lives.”

For more information about our Bowl-A- Fun, please call the main office at 598-4717.

Get a team together, gather some pledges, or make a donation and come cheer for the bowlers on April 10!
