Career Center Hosts Trade Union Reps on Oct. 2

Representatives of at least 11 trade unions will be on hand at Oswego County’s Career Center on Oct. 2 to meet people and answer questions for those who are thinking about a career in the union trades.

Oswego County Workforce New York will host “Employers and You: A Trade Union Forum,” from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 at 200 N. Second St., Fulton.

The event is open to the public. Anyone who wants to learn more about employment opportunities with the trade unions is encouraged to attend.

Representatives of these unions are scheduled to participate: Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 2; Carpenters Local 747, Electrical Workers Local 43, Heat and Frost Insulator Workers Local 30, Ironworkers Local 60, Laborers Local 633, Operating Engineers Local 545, Painters Local 38, Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 73, Roofers Local 195, and Sheet Metal Workers Local 58.

The presentation “All about Unions” will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. Participants will then have the opportunity to talk with union representatives from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
