According to Burritt, the four-week class will provide parents with an interactive learning experience that covers a variety of issues that are of utmost importance when raising a newborn.

Topics that will be discussed include:

Basic baby care, How to keep your baby safe, How to bond with your baby, Why taking care of yourself is important, and  Child development and milestones.

“We are pleased to be able to once again offer this workshop,” said Burritt. “We have been offering parenting classes for children ages 1 through 18 for several years and introduced this new workshop series for parents of newborns in January. We received plenty of positive feed back on the workshop and are looking forward to welcoming parents for next workshop that begins Feb. 23. I encourage parents with children 1 year of age or less to attend this workshop.”

The Parenting for Newborns workshop will be held on four consecutive Tuesday sessions beginning Feb. 23 and continuing through March 16.

All sessions will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at Fairly Elementary School, 953 Auburn St., Hannibal.

Burritt and intensive parent educator Amy Knox will facilitate the workshop.
