Catholic Charities Welcomes Judi Flisakowski

FULTON, NY – Program coordinator Jonathan Gilmore has announced that Judi Flisakowski has joined Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s Kinship Support Program as a program assistant.

A native of Buffalo, Flisakowski earned her B.A. degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash., and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in the human services field.

Before joining Catholic Charities she worked as the vice-president of community services for the United Way of Spokane County in Washington State and most recently as a case manager for the Rowan Helping Ministries’ night shelter in Salisbury, NC.

As a program assistant with the Kinship Program, Flisakowski will assist the coordinator with his duties, provide advocacy for families in the program and help these families find the supportive services they need to become a successful family unit.

“I enjoy working in the human services field and helping others,” said Flisakowski.  “I find it very rewarding to be working with the families in this program and helping them achieve their goals.”

Gilmore said that Flisakowski is a much welcome addition to the staff and is looking forward to expanding the program even further in the future.

“Judi’s work history and past experiences will be a real plus for our program. In addition to assisting the coordinator, she will also be coordinating the many events and outings that we hold for our families and helping me with our youth groups.  While we are currently serving 30 families, records indicate that more than 800 households in our county have adults raising their relatives’ children. There is plenty of potential for the Kinship Support Program to grow and I am looking forward to meeting the challenge by reaching out into the community and spreading the word about the many benefits the program has to offer,” he said.
