Catholic Charities, YAP To Host Halloween Dance

FULTON, NY – Catholic Charities of Oswego County and the Youth Advocate Program of Oswego County have teamed up to offer area youth in grades 7 through 10 a special Halloween treat.

On Oct. 29, Catholic Charities will host a Halloween Dance in its CYO facilities at 365 W. First St.

Open to all Oswego County youth in grades 7 through 10 the Halloween Dance will be an exciting event filled with fun, food, door prizes, a costume contest, and dancing.

A live DJ will be providing the music for the dance and prizes will be awarded for the most original, scariest, funniest and best overall costume.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer this special event as part of our Halloween activities,” said Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Oswego County, Mary-Margaret Pezzella-Pekow. “We’ve always had a pumpkin carving contest and a Halloween party for younger children but this is the first time we have been able to offer youth in grades 7 through 10 a Halloween event.  Thanks to our collaboration with YAP and the support we have received from McDonald’s of Fulton, who is providing the drinks, and Cam’s New York Pizzeria of Mexico, who is providing pizza, we have put together a great Halloween Dance. I’m sure that all who attend will have a good time!”

The Halloween Dance will be held from 6 – 9 p.m. and is free to Oswego County youth in grades 7 through 10.

Those attending are encouraged to come in costume and please bring non-perishable food item or a travel sized hygiene item for Catholic Charities’ emergency services program and food pantry.
