Central Square, NY – In an effort to support food pantries in northern Oswego County, the Walmart Supercenter on Route 49 in Central Square will host a food drive on Saturday, October 15th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Walmart volunteers, along with representatives from food pantries in Bernhard’s Bay, Redfield and the Sandy Creek / Lacona area will be on hand to accept donations of non-perishable food items.

“Food pantries throughout Oswego County, especially those in the northern region are in desperate need of donations to meet the demands for food subsidy and keep their shelves filled. We appreciate Walmart’s support in helping to organize and host this food drive and encourage those who can to stop by and drop off a food donation for those less fortunate,” said Lois Luber, Resource Development Director with the United Way of Greater Oswego County who also helped organize the food drive.
