Representatives also manned the booth as fairgoers could purchase fresh produce each day.

Located in the Horticulture Building, the display showcased the wide variety of fruits and vegetables that can be found at local farmers’ markets throughout New York State and educated fair goers about the importance of adding fresh, local food into their diet.

“It’s was a great display that focused on the benefits of shopping at your local farmers market,” said Goebricher.  “Farmers’ markets provide community members with the opportunity to purchase locally grown seasonal fruits and vegetables, sweet and savory baked goods, farm fresh eggs, wine, jellies, maple products and much more.  It also serves to help bring the community together and support local agriculture”
