Child Advocacy Center Says Thanks For Blue Ribbon Ride

Letter to the Editor

On behalf of the hundreds of children and their families that we serve at the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County I would like to thank those caring businesses and individuals who helped to make our Annual Blue Ribbon Ride such a success. The event raised more than $3,000 to help support our efforts to provide vital services to children who have been sexually or physically abused. From the beautiful weather for the ride to the wonderful chicken barbeque at Sweet Inspirations Drive-In it was a great day for all involved.

The success that we enjoyed would not be possible if not for support we received from the community and our event volunteers, including the staff from the Department of Social Services, our interns at the CAC, and other caring individuals who donated their time and effort. I would also like to extend a special thank you to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department for escorting our riders; the Fulton Police Department; Gerald Rogers, Andy Denery and the Palermo Fire Department; the Central Square Police Department; the Central Square Fire Department; the West Monroe Fire Department; the Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department; the West Amboy Fire Department; and the Mexico Volunteer Fire Department for their assistance with traffic control; the Granby Fire Department for their donation of a tent; and of course our major sponsors for our Blue Ribbon Ride; Wheel-A-Way Motorsports, Cayuga Security & Investigation, Sweet Inspirations, Slice ‘n’ Go Deli, and the Paul Taylor Band.

I am humbled by the community support we received and thankful for your recognition of the Child Advocacy Center and the work that we do to help Oswego County children who are victims of sexual or physical abuse.

Sincerely,

Olivia VanSanford
