OSWEGO – The Oswego Fire Department will host a child safety seat check on Saturday (March 5) from 9 a.m. to noon.
Nationally certified child passenger safety technicians from various local agencies will be on hand to make sure seats are installed properly, have no recalls, and are safe for your children.
According to the National Traffic Safety Administration, of car seats not installed by professionals, about 75% are installed incorrectly.
Children need to be sized correctly to the seat, and the seat needs to be installed correctly to provide adequate protection in case of a collision.
Our technicians will be able to properly install your seats and answer any questions you may have.
The public is encouraged to visit the Oswego Fire Department headquarters on March 5 from 9 a.m. to noon to ensure their car seats are installed correctly.
Cars should enter the front of the fire station via East Cayuga
Street and follow the signs for the event.
Children must be present in order to be fitted properly to their seats.
