Christmas Oswego Community Youth Orchestra Breakfast Buffet Benefit Scheduled

Tickets are now available for the Lake City Masonic Lodge No. 127 and Lake City Victoria Order of the Eastern Star No. 205 all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet benefit and raffle for the Oswego Community Youth Orchestra.

The breakfast will be December 21 from 8 a.m. – noon at Lake City Lodge No. 127, 765 E. Seneca St., Oswego.

This is a don’t miss event for a very worthy cause.

OCYO is a 501c(3) non-profit corporation. Donations are tax deductible per IRS regulations.

Buffet usually includes our renowned French toast, pancakes, home fries, eggs, bacon and sausage and drinks like coffee, milk, juice and water.

Served in our beautiful hall with cushioned chairs, plenty of parking, with the Masons and ladies of Eastern Star serving.

The OCYO is local elite student musicians, under the direction of a SUNY Oswego music professor.

Its Oswego concerts are held at SUNY Sheldon Hall.

The Oswego Community Youth Orchestra, founded in 2007, seeks to challenge and nurture young area musicians to strive for excellence, to explore their role in humanity and to contribute beauty to the community through the study and performance of orchestral music.

Members of OCYO are serious string players who have fun playing quality music with other like-minded musicians.

The group has traditionally consisted of high school students, but middle school students are considered based on ability.

Members have consistently qualified for All County and All State Orchestra, been concert masters and principal players in their respective school districts and received college scholarships for both academics and music.

Some have entered a performance track and others have become music teachers.

OCYO auditions for the upcoming season will be held on January 9, 2015, in Oswego.

Rehearsals and some concerts are held at SUNY Oswego Sheldon Hall.
