OSWEGO – Cindy Wilson, cook at The Salvation Army in Oswego, will prepare the next Guest Chef Dinner on June 4.

Dining room and takeout service will be available from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
The dinner menu will be ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, and tossed salad, along with desserts and beverages provided by members of the advisory board.
The dinner will be served at the Salvation Army Center for Worship and Service, 73 W. Second St., Oswego.
Wilson has been preparing 50 to 70 full dinners for people of Oswego and Fulton each weekday for the past three years.
Inspired first by her mother, Wilson found that she liked to cook enough so that she graduated from a cooking course at Onondaga Community College.
She also completed training as a licensed practical nurse at a nursing vocational school in Syracuse and worked locally in that field for 25 years.
Having returned to her first love, she especially enjoys the social fellowship with the people she meets through her cooking at The Salvation Army.
Future Guest Chef Dinners this year will be provided through the generosity of the Zonta Club of Oswego on September 10, the Press Box on a date TBA in October, and Canale’s Restaurant on November 12.
The Guest Chef Dinners are organized by the Salvation Army Advisory Board and offered to the community to raise funds for fresh-cooked meals in both Fulton and Oswego and other services provided to individuals and families in need throughout Oswego County.
The food for this dinner is underwritten by members of the advisory board, so ticket receipts go to the work of the Army.
Information about The Salvation Army or about serving as a volunteer is available at 315-343-6491 or at the office.
