CiTi BOCES Launches Live Weather Station to Support Local Agriculture

The CiTi BOCES weather station broadcasts real-time data essential to student learning and local agriculture.

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation is proud to announce the installation of its own live weather station. Broadcasting real-time data, the station is accessible through the CiTi Weather Dashboard and offers a new hands-on learning tool for students and valuable insights for the local agricultural community.

The weather station came to fruition as part of a collaboration between CiTi BOCES’ Agriculture Technology program, led by Morgan Cooper, and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County. The partnership is dedicated to bringing cutting-edge tools and data into the classroom, while also supporting the broader agricultural industry in the region.

This initiative represents another step forward in CiTi’s commitment to innovation, real-world learning, and community engagement. In addition to its educational use, the weather station is also integrated into the Network for Environment and Weather Applications (NEWA), a state and regional resource that delivers weather data to support integrated pest management and crop production. More information about NEWA can be found at newa.cornell.edu.
