CiTi BOCES Student Logan Duval Advances to the Annual New York Thruway Cup Welding Competition

OSWEGO COUNTY – CiTi BOCES is thrilled to announce that Logan Duval, an Oswego City School District student, has achieved first place at the semi-finals of the Haun Welding Competition in Syracuse. This remarkable accomplishment earned Duval a $1,000 scholarship to any accredited welding school and a new welding helmet, awarded to the top three finishers.
Duval’s victory secures his spot in the prestigious annual New York Thruway Cup Student Welding Competition, where the best high school welders from across New York’s American Welding Society (AWS) will compete for top honors. The competition will be held on May 2nd and 3rd in Rochester.
The New York Thruway Cup brings together the top three welders from each of AWS District 6’s five sections: Twin Tiers, Niagara Frontier, Rochester, Syracuse and Northern New York. Participants will vie for prizes including cash, merchandise, tools, welding helmets and invaluable recognition.
Duval’s success highlights the outstanding instruction, resources and hands-on experiences provided by the CiTi Career and Technical Education Welding Technology program.
