SCRIBA – Looking to build on their classroom studies, students in the Public Safety and Justice program at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation recently learned the ropes of rappelling during a hands-on activity.

After spending several weeks learning about different types of ropes, knots and essential techniques of rappelling, student in the program were afforded the opportunity to practice the descension drill at Scriba Volunteer Fire Station.
The exercise is designed to simulate rescue situations law enforcement and firefighters may face in the line of duty, such as falls from cliffs or other tough terrains.
