CNY Arts Staff Will Hold Office Hours in Oswego County Office Building

OSWEGO – CNY Arts staff will hold office hours in the County Office Building in Oswego Oct. 3 and Oct. 17 to provide technical assistance to local artists and arts, cultural and heritage tourism organizations.

Matthew DeBellas, marketing director for CNY Arts, said staff members will be available from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 3 and Oct. 17 in Conference Room C on the fourth floor of the County Office Building at 46 E. Bridge St.

Artists, and arts, cultural and heritage organizations who would like more information on grants opportunities and how to promote their work on the CNY Arts Web site are welcome to stop in.

Satellite offices for other locations in Oswego County will be announced later this fall.

CNY Arts services include among others, providing community arts grants, technical assistance, and a collaborative marketing system called gotocnyarts.org

Artists and arts and cultural organizations in Oswego County can participate in their on-line directory of events and resources.

CNY Arts is contracted by the New York State Council on the Arts to serve as the regional arts council for six counties across 5,600 square miles of Central New York and the Mohawk Valley, including Oswego, Oneida, Herkimer, Cortland, Madison, and Onondaga counties.

Its mission is to support, promote, and celebrate arts and culture.

With funding from the Regional Economic Development Council through NYSCA, CNY Arts recently completed and published a comprehensive regional assessment and developed a ten-year cultural plan, ENGAGE CNY.

“This office sharing arrangement is a crucial step in implementing ENGAGE,” said Stephen Butler, CNY Arts executive director. “Having office space in downtown Oswego will allow us to better unite our region, and support artists and arts, culture, history, and heritage organizations.”
