The tournament will pit 12 teams, 6 players per team, in a round-robin tournament with the opportunity to win prizes of $250 for first place and $150 for second place.

To add to the fun there will also be a bag auction and a 50 / 50 drawing.

Lee Victory, owner of Cheap Seats, will also donate 20 % of food and beverage sales each day of the tournament to Catholic Charities of Oswego County.

“I’m happy to be able to lend my support. Catholic Charities of Oswego County provides vital programs and services that many in Oswego County depend on. Supporting Catholic Charities of Oswego County is a great way to give back to our community,” he said.

In addition to the donation from Cheap Seats all proceeds from the event will benefit Catholic Charities’ food pantry, which served more than 13,000 people and provided more than 77,000 meals last year and the CYO, which offers a wide variety of recreational and educational programs for area youth including its popular mentoring program for elementary and high school students.

Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Oswego County, Mary-Margaret Pezzella-Pekow is pleased with the level of support the event has received to date and is looking forward to the tournament.

“Thanks to our major sponsors, Alliance Bank, Burritt Motors, and Cheap Seats Sports Bar & Grille, we have been able to expand our tournament and offer two days of fun and friendly competition for a good cause. With the increasing demand we are experiencing at our food pantry and the budget cuts that have placed our CYO program in jeopardy, we are hoping that this fundraiser will help provide much needed support for these programs. I invite the community to join us for our second annual Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament. Whether you’re a player or a spectator, you’re sure to have a great time!” she said.

The fundraiser will be held at Cheap Seats Sports Bar & Grille, 6 Hillside Ave.
