Come Back To BOCES Celebration Scheduled Sept. 20

MEXICO, NY – Oswego County BOCES is calling all alumni and their families for a Come Back To BOCES celebration on Sept. 20 from noon to 4 p.m.

The celebration will give an opportunity for visitors to tour the campus and the current Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs to see how these classes have grown and provide benefits to the local communities.

With doors slated to open at noon, an afternoon of activities will begin with a guided tour of the current campus followed at 1 p.m. with an informal welcoming ceremony by Oswego County BOCES District Superintendent Dr. Joseph Camerino and local dignitaries.

In this time, Dr. Camerino will present information about the proposed capital project referendum.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase during the entire event and alumni and visitors can stop by many displays in and around the mall area.

Alumni photos will line the hallways and visitors will be encouraged to look for their class photos and sign the memory wall.

Guest can stop by the Cosmetology classroom for a paraffin wax spa treatment, nail airbrushing or a temporary body stencil.

In addition, information will be available about the Shear Class Beauty Salon where students provide salon and spa treatments to the public ranging from skin and nail care to hair care.

The Public Safety and Justice Program will be conducting demonstrations and providing identification cards for parents with their child’s photo, fingerprints and important information.

The Early Childhood Education Program will conduct hands-on activities for young visitors and registration information regarding the 3- and 4-year old learning lab will be available.
