FULTON, NY — Community Bank N.A. recently presented a $10,000 “Steward” pledge to Friends of Great Bear and the Central New York Land Trust for its campaign to save Whiskey Island and Northern Great Bear.

Through a challenge grant provided earlier this year, the Richard S. Shineman Foundation will match the bank’s donation dollar-for-dollar, bringing the total contribution to $20,000.
“Community Bank N.A is honored to support this campaign,” Community Bank N.A. CEO and President Mark Tryniski said. “As community members of Oswego and the northern Onondaga counties, many members of our team have personally used the recreational area and therefore know firsthand how crucial it is to acquire permanent protection for the land. We encourage everyone to get involved with this campaign and donate, if they are able.”
The campaign’s fundraising goal is $165,000 and will end in mid-July.
