Community Support Heartwarming

OSWEGO, NY – We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the many business and individuals who generously donated to our Giving Tree.

Each year, Oswego County Opportunities has a Giving Tree at our administrative office to help the families that are staying in our homeless apartment program.

This year for the first time we needed to reach out to the community for additional resources to help the growing number of families that are finding themselves in very difficult situations that they have never faced before.

It was heartwarming to see the response that we have received from the following businesses that chose to support our efforts by adopting a family: Burke’s Home Center in Oswego; Oswego County Court House (all courts); Oswego County Credit Union; Oswego Falls Law Office, Bruce Clarke; Physical Therapy Plus; Doyle’s Bike Shop; Peter and Ann Wiltsie of Wiltsie Construction in Oswego; and Prince of Peace Church who provided food for several families.

Thanks to the generous donations from these caring businesses and the employees of OCO, a number of families will be enjoying a merrier holiday season.

We are fortunate to live in a community that cares about one another and really steps up to the plate to support those less fortunate and help make Christmas Day a little brighter.
