Hannibal High School and Kenney Middle School concerts provided an enjoyable taste of the holiday season when they performed in separate concerts at the school in early December.

The Senior High Chorus Concert, under the direction of Lori Blackburn, began with a traditional French carol of “Angels We Have Heard on High” and other popular selections of winter and holiday delights
Student director Nathan Wood led the Pop Choir in two popular selections and senior soloist Haley Wilber delighted young and old with the hit song “Let It Go” from the movie “Frozen,” “Letters From War,” a Human Video production was a moving and poignant dramatic presentation featuring Caitlyn Kerst and John Motell, in a dramatization of the song by Mark Schultz.

Kenney Middle School’s grade 5-8 band and chorus holiday concert was equally entertaining with performances by 5th and 6th grade chorus members, directed by Jeff Sawyer, transitioned between holiday favorites such as “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Feliz Navidad” and popular songs like Bill Withers’ “Lean on Me,” and Katy Perry’s “Roar” to name a few.
Band performances by the 7th and 8th grade band, directed by Robert H. Sherwood, provided a wide array of musical treats highlighting the winter and holiday season.
Wrapping up the night’s festivities were members of the 7th and 8th grade chorus led by Choral Director Jeff Sawyer.
The group sang four songs including “Po La’ I E,” the Hawaiian interpretation of “Silent Night.”
