Continental Arms Collectors’ Exhibit Dedicated to Memory of Local Naval Aviator

Oswego – Continental Arms Collectors Association had its annual U.S. Military and Naval exhibit at the Oswego Elk’s Lodge Veterans’ Day dinner on Friday, November 11. The display, sponsored by the Elks Lodge and Vashaw’s Collision Service, was dedicated to local U.S. Naval Aviator, Lt. Nathan Williams. Lt. Williams, with another officer, died when their F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet went down near the Naval Air Station near Lemoore, California, earlier this year.

Lt. Williams, a Weapons Systems Officer, was the recipient of several medals, including the Meritorious Service Medal presented by the President of the United States posthumously. In the citation, for that medal, A.G. Myers, Vice Admiral, U.S. Navy said: “Lieutenant Williams’ exceptional professionalism, personal initiative, and loyal devotion to duty reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service”.

Continental Arms Collectors Association embraces a commitment to enhance public knowledge on the significance of firearms in American history and to insure that those who use them to defend American freedom are remembered.
