Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County announces the third Annual Quilting in the Woods Retreat to be held at the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center. This retreat will begin Friday, October 10 at 6:00PM and run through Sunday, October 12 at noon. Whether you are an experienced quilter that has been making quilts for years or are just discovering the rewards of quilting – this retreat is for you. “Quilting in the Woods” is packed full of great projects, quilting instruction, good food and lots of fun. You will make new friends as you spend the weekend quilting with people who share the same interests and love for quilting that you do.

Workshops for the weekend include: Stack N’ Whack, a unique quilt using only one print for both the blocks and borders, a strip Christmas stocking and table runner from Eleanor Burns “Christmas at Bear’s Paw Ranch”, and Pinwheel Tablemat. The weekend also includes a nature walk on the trails with an Environmental Educator, a ”trunk show”, games and lots of idea sharing.

The total cost for the Quilt Retreat Weekend is $60.00.  This fee includes four instruction workshops, four meals and two nights lodging. If unable to attend the whole weekend, quilters can attend individual workshops.  Pre-registration is required and are due by Friday, September 29. Materials lists will be sent to you after registration. For more information, or to pre-register, please call the 4-H office at 963-7286, ext. 302 for Mary Matteson or email Mary at [email protected].
