County Health Department Will Hold Best-Tasting Drinking Water Contest at Memorial Day Salute

FULTON  – The Oswego County Health Department will hold its 21st annual best-tasting drinking water contest Saturday, May 28, at the Fulton Memorial Day Salute.

Visitors will vote for their favorite samples of drinking water from municipal systems in Oswego County. All municipal water supplies are eligible to enter the contest, which is coordinated by the health department’s environmental division.

“The contest is a friendly competition to remind people of the importance of protecting our water resources in Oswego County and across New York State. Last year, the Village of Pulaski took first at the county level and went on to be finalist at the New York State Fair,” said Natalie Roy, associate public health sanitarian for the Oswego County Health Department.

The winner of the Oswego County competition will advance to the Syracuse regional contest in June, and regional winners will compete for the state title at the State Fair in August.
