FULTON, NY – When it cam time for Rodney and Shirley Revette to celebrate their 50th golden wedding anniversary the couple from Central Square decided that rather than exchange gifts with each other, they would support a local program that was dear to their hearts, Oswego County Opportunities’ Senior Nutrition Meals on Wheels.

“Neither of us really needed anything. We decided that since OCO’s Meals on Wheels program does so much to help people in need we would make a donation to the program as our gift to each other,” explained Mrs. Revette.

As president of the Lyndon Lawn Homeowners Association, Mr. Revette has seen firsthand that there are many seniors who are in need of a healthy and nutritional meal. “With the economic times that are facing many of us today, the seniors feel it the most.  My wife and I are happy that we are able to help,” he said.

“Our heartfelt thanks go out to Rodney and Shirley Revette,” said Director of Senior Nutrition Services, Amy Roland. “Their generous donation is greatly appreciated and we congratulate them on their Golden Wedding Anniversary.”

In addition to the Meals on Wheels program, OCO’s Senior Nutrition Services administers eight Dining and Activity Centers where seniors can enjoy a hot, nutritious noontime meal and visit with friends. These centers are located in Fulton, Sandy Creek, Oswego, Mexico, Hannibal, Parish, Phoenix and Constantia.
