Course Selection Night And 9th Grade Honors Scheduled For OHS

OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Middle School eighth graders and their parents are invited to attend a special evening event at Oswego High School next Tuesday.

There will be a course selection night at the high school for parents and students on Jan. 18 in the Faust Theatre for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m.

Parents and students are invited to come to OHS to meet their principal and counselors.

Information on graduation requirements, course offerings and school policies will be available.

Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions, tour the school and help their son or daughter choose their courses for ninth grade.

Guidance counselor Rachel Henderson said there will be another opportunity being offered during the evening.

She said, “For students and parents interested in the honors program we will be holding an informational session on the ninth grade honors curriculum before the regular program begins from 6:30 to 7 p.m. If your child is interested in taking honors classes in ninth grade you may want to come hear what the honors teachers and some current honors students have to say. The decision of how many honors classes and which ones to take can be difficult so we would like to provide incoming parents and students with some information.”
