Students, families, educators and community members from across the Oswego City School District came together for the annual District Art Show, celebrating the creativity and talent of student artists from kindergarten through grade 12. The free event showcased artwork from across the district and provided an opportunity for students to share their work with the community.
“We had the best time showcasing our K-12 artists at Tyler Art Gallery. It is exciting to see so much unique artwork on display in one space,” said Ashley Scaccia, K-6 Art Teacher at Kingsford Park School and Team Leader for the Elementary Art Department. “The creativity and talent each year is truly amazing, and it is inspiring to see the growth of our students year after year.”
“The district art show is a wonderful celebration of student work,” said Kelly Jackson, OHS Art Teacher. “Not only can students show their families their hard work, but they interact with artists in the district of all ages. It’s such a special day for the students who work so hard all year long. Being able to see your work in a professional gallery is unforgettable.”
The event reflected the district’s commitment to community connections, collaboration and diversity and inclusion by bringing together students, families, educators and community partners to celebrate artistic expression and learning.
The district extends its gratitude to SUNY Oswego, John McConnell, Gina Marie’s Music Studio, Priya Modi and Leanna’s Art Room for generously providing free music, activities and experiences that enhanced the event and helped create a welcoming and engaging celebration of the arts for all.
