OSWEGO, NY – Catholic Charities of Oswego County received some much needed support recently as CSEA presented Catholic Charities with a check to cover the cost of the refreshments for the agency’s first ever, Hawaiian Bunko Bash Fundraiser.

Scheduled for July 22, Catholic Charities’ Hawaiian Bunko Bash Fundraiser will be held in St. Paul’s Priory Hall, 50 E. Mohawk St.

Dan Hoefer, secretary for CSEA Local 611, presents Penny Foster-Pratt of Catholic Charities of Oswego County with a check on behalf of the local’s 411 members at SUNY Oswego in support of Catholic Charities’ upcoming Hawaiian Bunko Bash Fundraiser.Featuring a fun, Hawaiian theme, the evening offers participants with the opportunity to take part in an exciting evening of Bunko while enjoying a variety of food and refreshments.

In addition to the food and fun there will be cash prizes, and a 50 / 50 raffle.

“We are very appreciative of this generous donation from CSEA, said event committee member, Penny Foster-Pratt. “Their donation will benefit our agency in two ways as we will use it to purchase soda in cans for our Hawaiian Bunko Bash and then recycle the cans as we use them for our entries in the Novelis Oswego Works 10Kan run / 5Kan Walk/Run taking place on Sept. 20. It will also benefit Oswego County Habitat for Humanity as they receive all the proceeds from the Novelis 10Kan event.”

Pratt added that all proceeds from the agency’s Hawaiian Bunko Bash will be used to help the more than twenty human services programs that Catholic Charities provides for those in need throughout Oswego County including its food pantry and youth counseling services.

The event will be held July 22 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in St. Paul’s Priory Hall.

Tickets are $10 each and participants who bring a dish to pass will be entered in a special drawing.
