CENTRAL SQUARE – Following is a  letter from CSSD Superintendent Thomas J. Colabufo regarding heating issues being resolved at Brewerton Elementary School:

February 6, 2023

Dear Brewerton Parents/Guardians:

We were informed not long ago that a pipe broke in Brewerton Elementary impacting the heating throughout the building. Our maintenance crew was diligently working to solve the problem, and
they have done so as the heat has been restored, and the temperature in the classrooms is beginning to rise at a steady rate.

In the short-term, when the heat was not working, our teachers
had students put on their coats while our Director of Facilities was at Brewerton Elementary assessing the situation.

We were close to sending a notification out to all parents/guardians and to staff that it looked like we were going to have to have an early dismissal at Brewerton Elementary School.

Fortunately, the situation was quickly rectified, and we are extremely grateful to the wonderful staff members at Brewerton Elementary that always make it a priority to make sure that their students are comfortable and supported. Thank you so much, and have a great day.

Sincerely,

Thomas J. Colabufo
Superintendent
TJC/ph
