CYO Students Enjoy Tae Kwon Do

Master Lucy Hanson and Master Kimberly Arnold recently visited the CYO Summer Program for a special demonstration on the martial art of Tae Kwon Do. The children observed several demonstrations as they, as well as the CYO staff members, learned how to defend themselves. The students even had the opportunity to practice what they learned on Master Hanson and Master Arnold.

The CYO Summer Recreation Program is offered free of charge to children ages 7 to 13 and is held Monday thru Friday, 9a to 3p through August 15th. Children enjoy a variety of special events and activities designed to aid in the recreational development of youth in Fulton, as well as the surrounding communities of Oswego County. Children may attend the CYO Summer Program daily, or whatever days they choose, however participation is limited to the first 75 children each day.

Activities in the CYO Summer Program include; daily recreational activities, outdoor recreation at local parks, special presentations and awareness groups, arts & crafts, a reading program featuring guest readers, themed game days, and other fun activities. The special themed days, to be held August 1st, & August 15th, include games, movies, snacks, and a piñata reflective of that day’s theme.

A trained staff supervises all activities and assists all participants as needed to insure that they receive the full benefits of the program as well as help in their physical and mental development.

Children receive a free lunch daily through the USDA Summer Feeding Program sponsored by the Food Bank of Central New York.
