OSWEGO – The Children’s Room atop the Oswego Public Library has been buzzing with activity since Summer Reading Signups started June 27.

More than 500 children have visited and 222 have turned in their first card showing they have read at least an hour.
A few have already surpassed 30 hours!
Wednesday was Dance Day featuring crafts and snacks with a dance theme.
Stefanie Standish of Studio C Dance Academy led a free ballet class.
Children reviewed or learned the basics including plié (plee ay), tendu (tahn-doo), and arabesque (ah rah besk).
A plié is bending at the knees keeping the upper body up and down.
A tendu is extending a leg straight out with your foot fully pointed.

An arabesque position is standing on one leg with the other leg, raised behind the body, extended in a straight line.
Everyone enjoyed dancing.
There are still two weeks to sign up for On Your Mark, Get Set… Read!
Activities are happening every day at the Oswego Public Library.
