Gryczka came to MACS with several years of student and athletic administrative experience and 16 years of experience as a coach for various sports.

He said he made the move to MACS when the opportunity arose because many people spoke highly of the school district and he was excited to continue the strengths of the department.

Athletics had a huge impact on him while growing up and Gryczka said he aims to provide that same life-changing sentiment for MACS students.

“It was the people in education and the coaching world that impacted me,” he said, as he noted physical education and athletics are a good way to help students navigate high school. “(Athletics) provides opportunities to learn from failure; there’s a lot of life lessons you can learn from athletics.”

Gryczka said he can’t wait for the stadium project come to fruition, to establish great rapport with students, their families and MACS staff members; and to see what happens with the Mexico High School’s move from a Class A to a Class B school.

He received a bachelor’s degree in physical education from St. Bonaventure University, a master’s degree in health education from SUNY Cortland and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

When not on the job, Gryczka enjoys spending time with his wife, two children and Jax, the family American bull dog.
