The majority of the work the organization does is done by volunteers who dedicate their time to helping others and furthering the mission of the American Red Cross.

One of those dedicated volunteers is Fran Wadas.

Fran serves in various capacities for the local Red Cross.

She volunteers her time at local blood drives and works with the Advisory Committee on various projects and events.

In September, Fran showed her dedication to the Red Cross by going the extra mile to help with a large fundraiser that the Red Cross does every year at the State Fair.

Fran took a bus to the State Fair and assisted for a five-hour shift parking cars to raise money for the chapter.

Fran also had on of the highest amount of pledges in the Bridges to Caring Walk, a Red Cross fundraiser, held in late September.

Fran worked hard on the Bridges to Caring Walk by securing T-shirt sponsors, pledges for herself for walking, as well as actually showing up that morning to help set up and administer the run – in the pouring rain!

Fran is a dedicated American Red Cross volunteer who consistently goes the extra mile.

To show our appreciation for this tireless effort the Red Cross, partnering with Dunkin Donuts, presents Fran with the Volunteer of the Month award.

Dunkin Donuts has partnered with the American Red Cross to provide gift cards each month for the Volunteer of the Month.

This partnership allows the Red Cross to express its appreciation to volunteers while at the same time giving Dunkin Donuts a stake in the community as well.

There are many opportunities available for volunteering with the American Red Cross.
