Dixon Joins Step One Creative As Summer Public Relations Intern

OSWEGO, New York – Step One Creative, an Oswego-based marketing communications firm, has announced that Abby Dixon, of Oswego, has joined the agency as a summer public relations intern, according to President Shane R. Stepien.

Dixon, a senior public relations major at Iona College, located in New Rochelle, NY, will assist Step One with various event related projects throughout the summer, as well as ongoing public relation initiatives.

“We’re excited to have a young leader and aspiring PR professional like Abby join us at Step One,” said Stepien. “I was very impressed with Abby, and believe she will benefit from the many learning opportunities provided through our internship program.”

In addition to her internship at Step One Creative, Dixon is a member of the Iona College Division I women’s soccer team, and has recently been announced as team co-captain for the upcoming 2010 fall season. Iona is in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Dixon was also named to the 2009 MAAC All-Academic team in recognition of her GPA during the past season. During the summer months, she enjoys catching up with friends and family in her hometown of Oswego.

“I’m so pleased to have been offered the opportunity to intern at Step One Creative and am excited to be involved,” said Dixon. “There is nothing more valuable for a student than to witness the actual work day of advertising, marketing, and public relations professionals. Many of these projects I can’t learn in a classroom environment.”
