On Tuesday, May 21st the Eis House, 144 Academy Street in Mexico, will host a Paint Party from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Proceeds will benefit OCO’s “There’s No Place Like a Home” initiative.

Presented by Christina Wallace of owner of Pink Lemonade, the Paint Party offers attendees the opportunity to design and paint a colorful four-foot tall porch leaner. Several styles will be available from home to seasonal themes.

The Paint Party fundraiser is part of OCO’s recognition of Community Action Month.

“Our theme for this year is ‘There’s No Place Like a Home,’ said OCO Development Coordinator Bridget Dolbear. “For 58 years, OCO has been a lifeline for hundreds of individuals and families facing challenges, including developmental disabilities, addiction, mental health issues, domestic violence, and homelessness. We provide not just shelter, but essential supportive services to help people rebuild their lives and become self-sufficient. OCO envisions a community where everyone has a safe and secure place to call home. Our ‘There’s No Place Like a Home’ theme will be the driving force for all of our activities and events throughout the year.”

In keeping with that theme Wallace chose porch leaners for the Paint Party. “Porch leaners are a unique way to decorate your home with a personal touch,” said Wallace. “As a member of OCO’s Cancer Services Program I am well aware of work OCO does to enhance the quality of life for the families and individuals that it serves. I’m happy to be hosting the Paint Party and encourage community members to join us for a fun night of painting, and possibly discover their hidden artistic talent!”
