OSWEGO – It costs a lot of money for Harborfest’s staff to put on the region’s best summer festival. Music – from local bands to groups like this year’s highlight, top country stars Parmalee – doesn’t come cheaply. Neither does Central New York’s greatest fireworks show. Tents, restrooms, supplies all have a price tag, too. That’s why Harborfest officials are asking the festival’s fans to lend a hand. For as little as $25, people can become supporting members of Harborfest, while businesses can receive community visibility for as little as $300.
“Here’s the truth – fundraising gets harder every year. Some companies have pulled back or ended their support and individual support remains a challenge. Your membership not only gives you a piece of the festival you love; it also supports a festival that brings a significant economic impact to our region. Please join us in building a festival that is as strong as it is fun,” said Dan Harrington, Executive Director.
Individuals or families who donate $25 or more and businesses which become members for $300 or more are listed on the Harborfest website. Business Members receive added benefits which can include, based on membership level, the display of the business’s banner at Breitbeck Park and tickets to the annual sponsor reception.
More information on memberships is available here. Memberships can be paid for online, here. Donations made to the Harbor Festivals Guild are eligible for a tax deduction.
