OSWEGO, NY – Entergy, owner/operator of the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant, is the major sponsor of the 14th annual Oswego County Hospice Cup Regatta & Walk/Run for Hope.
This year’s event is set for June 1 at the Oswego Yacht Club/International Marina.

Plans for the day-long event, which raised nearly $30,000 in 2012 and more than $250,000 in the last 13 years, are well under way.
Events include the sailing regatta on Lake Ontario, the 5K Walk/Run for Hope and an afternoon reception.
“We are grateful that Entergy has joined us as the major sponsor this year,” said Debbie Bishop, executive director of the Friends of Oswego County Hospice. “Without the support of local partners such as Entergy, we would not be able to support the Hospice program, patients and families at the level we do.”
Funds raised at the Regatta enable the Friends of Hospice to provide financial resources to Hospice patients and their families to relieve unnecessary burdens when they are already dealing with the life-limiting illness of a loved one.
The Friends of Hospice also provide financial resources to maintain the Hospice Volunteer Program and to operate Camp Rainbow of Hope, a free bereavement program for children who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
The Regatta kicks off with the 5K walk/run at 8:30 a.m. at the Wright’s Landing pavilion.
Registration forms will be available soon.
Sailing races get under way at 10 a.m. at the Oswego Yacht Club.
Capping off the day’s events is the Hospice/Sailor Reception that begins at 4 p.m. The reception is hosted by Lighthouse Lanes and Eagle Beverage and features a variety of food and beverages donated by local restaurants, entertainment by Ontario, a silent auction and drawings.
Reservations are required for the reception.
