Explore a Career in the Energy Industry and Earn Rewards

OSWEGO COUNTY – Oswego County Workforce New York (OCWNY) partners with Constellation and National Grid to offer high school seniors an introduction to green energy fields. The Energy Industry Career Exploration program runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday, March 30 through Thursday, April 2 at the OCWNY Career Center, 200 N. Second St., Fulton.

The program is open to students aged 18 and older who are enrolled in an Oswego County school district. The curriculum includes presentations from representatives of National Grid, Constellation and New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Lunch will be provided each day.

In addition to knowledge of energy jobs, students will earn $100 in gift cards each day they attend, for a total of $400 in gift cards for those who complete the program.

At the end of the program, participants will take an ACT WorkKeys assessment to earn a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). The NCRC is a nationally recognized credential that demonstrates essential workplace skills in applied math, workplace documents and graphic literacy. It’s highly valued by employers across multiple industries as a reliable measure of workplace readiness.
