Hundreds of Fairgrieve Elementary School families took a break from their busy holiday schedules to enjoy an evening of music at the school’s recent winter concert on December 13.

The school’s sixth grade orchestra, led by Director Danielle Delfanian and featuring All-County Orchestra member Michael Hartmann Jr., played three pieces for the audience.
The orchestra is comprised of four violinists, seven viola players, and one cellist and played using two different techniques: traditional style with a bow and pizzicato style which is a plucking method.
The combined fifth and sixth chorus also played three different songs at the concert including a rendition of December Nights, December Lights featuring All-County Chorus Festival members Selene Belrad, Dorothy Henopp, Nariah Holden, Jaquiline Knoblock, Bianca Wood, Jayden Coon, Justin Hatch, and Kaylee Waugh.

The Fairgrieve combined chorus is directed by Hope Lawton.
Also participating in the concert was the school’s sixth grade band, led by Conductor JoAnne Sherwood.
Featuring All-County Band members Isaac Crandall, Nathaniel Lindsey, and Aidan Percival as well as special guest musician Fairgrieve Principal Jean Ciesla, the group played Holiday Fanfare, Starlight and Winter Medley.
