Fairgrieve Elementary School recently acknowledged its top readers of the 2014-15 school year by inviting school’s top Accelerated Readers to a special, and tasty, celebration.

After announcing the top readers during a morning assembly, the top 14 participants in the Accelerated Readers program gathered outside with Principal Jean Ciesla and school librarian Barb Senecal and were treated to pizza and ice cream.
The Accelerated Reading program is a national program designed to inspire children to read.
During the celebration, students had the opportunity to interact with one another and discuss what books they read throughout the school year. Each student was then presented with a gift bag and given a book of their choosing.
The top three point earners were students Olivia Hawthorne (295.9 points), Kaylee Hutchins (273.9 points) and Brandi Carr (200.9).
Other top point earners included Shyanne Duston, Emma Weaver, Tristan Kent, Caitlin Todt, Anthony Lucas, EvaLynn Dickens, Lexi Patterson, Ryan Carroll, Caitlyn Warne, Isabella Cary and Annyka Halligan.
