Lily Johnson, the princess, attempts her escape from the dragon by piercing the dragon’s tail with a sword. A variety of fun activities will be on tap at the Oswego Players’ Fairy Tale Faire on Aug. 26. People are to look for the colorful gypsy wagon when they come to the fort.
OSWEGO – The story is told that a fierce dragon held a young princess captive deep within the castle walls. Only the bravest of knights would be able to rescue the princess.

On August 26, local youngsters will have their chance to rescue the princess being held captive inside the walls of Fort Ontario. The Fairy Tale Faire runs from 1-3 p.m.
The Oswego Players’ Fairy Tale Faire will feature games, jousting, and a variety of activities on the lawn in front of the Oswego Civic Arts Center.
Available for purchase and painting will be shields and swords for the youngsters to use when they “attack” Fort Ontario at 2:30 p.m. to rescue the princess being held by the dragon.
Youngsters are invited to come in costumes as princes and princesses and warriors of all kinds.
There will be a small charge for playing the games, but every game will feature prize tickets for redemption of a variety of prizes.
There is no scheduled rain date.
