Family Fun Day Set August 20 at Richardson-Bates House Museum

OSWEGO – Fun games, prizes, entertainment, ice cream sundaes and free tours of the Richardson-Bates House Museum will all take place on Aug. 20 from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Family Fun Day.

The public is invited to come and take part in this summer fun activity for children and adults alike on the lawn of the museum at 135 E. Third St.

There will be a variety of fun games this year and more prizes to win.

As a special treat, there will be a performance by the Oswego County New Horizon Chorus, singing a medley of Broadway songs beginning at 2 p.m.

Face painting will be another fun day feature during the afternoon. A children’s toy basket will be raffled.

Ice cream sundaes, lemonade and ice tea will be available all afternoon.

Cost of the games and sundaes will be a small charge.

Persons can purchase tickets at the event and have fun all afternoon.

The Richardson-Bates Houses Museum will be open for tours.

All proceeds from the event will go toward the operating budget of the museum.

The Oswego County Historical Society is a non-profit organization founded in 1896 and dedicated to the preservation, promotion and interpretation of the historical resources of the county.

The society owns and operates the Richardson-Bates House Museum at 135 E.Third St., a landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The museum is open for tours Thursday through Saturday from 1 – 5 p.m. and other times by appointment.
