In an effort to get students excited about reading, the Michael A. Maroun Elementary Parent-Faculty Organization recently sponsored a family literacy night.

The evening included opportunities for students to create their own bookmarks, grab a book at the book fair and read with a therapy dog. Students also had a chance to participate in a story hour reading.
“This was a wonderful event that culminated our PARP (Pick a Reading Partner Program) and provided students with a chance to celebrate the joy and fun of reading,” a PFO spokesperson said.
