OSWEGO – The popular local WingFest will return to the shores of Lake Ontario when the Farnham Foundation presents this fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 1, at the Lake Ontario Conference Center in Oswego.

The Farnham Foundation is the new charitable arm for Farnham Family Services, which provides support including prevention, treatment and recovery services for those with substance use disorder. The foundation was the dream and a signature accomplishment for former Farnham Executive Director Eric Bresee, who passed away in fall 2023.

The Child Advocacy Center ran the sold-out event for many years before it was discontinued by the COVID pandemic, and the organization gave the Farnham Foundation its blessing to restart the event, as John Zanewych – board president of the Farnham Foundation and first vice president of the Farnham Family Services board – has served on the CAC board as well.

“This event was a tremendous fundraiser for the Child Advocacy Center for years, and the Farnham Foundation was pleased with the opportunity to bring this event to support yet another great cause,” Zanewych said. “In addition, we look at WingFest as a wonderful way to celebrate Eric Bresee’s outstanding work and legacy.”

Early-bird tickets (before Feb. 1) cost $50 per person, which includes wing samples from 15 of Oswego County’s finest purveyors, entertainment by Cam Caruso and a fun night out. The evening will include craft beer sampling and chances to win prize packages. After Feb. 1, tickets will cost $55 per person.

The Farnham Foundation is in the process of soliciting sponsorship from local businesses interested in structured publicity in support of this outstanding local cause. Board members are also in the process of reaching out to local establishments interested in competing for the title of best wings in Oswego County. Those interested in participating as sponsors or restaurants can email [email protected].

To reserve tickets, visit the Farnham Foundation page on Facebook or the foundation’s website, farnhaminc.org/farnhamfoundation.aspx, or purchase in person from the Clarion Hotel and Suites on East First Street in Oswego.
