OSWEGO, NY – Looking to see the latest fashions from some of the world’s most famous designers? Then you won’t want to miss Rent to Prevent, a Charity Fashion Show to benefit the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County (CAC).

To be held April 13 at SUNY Oswego’s Hewitt Union ballroom, the Rent To Prevent Charity Fashion Show begins at 5:30 p.m. with a pre-show event starting a 4 p.m. Sponsored by the SUNY Oswego Student Association Programming Board (SAPB), Rent to Prevent is a program of Rent the Runway, a community designed service established in New York City that offers women the opportunity to rent the latest in high fashion from the world’s most famous designers so that they may look glamorous for those special nights out.
“We are excited to be hosting the Rent to Prevent Charity Fashion Show,” said Gloria Grimaldi, an intern for the Rent the Runway organization. “It’s going to be a fun evening for a great cause. Our models will enjoy wearing the latest fashions and the community will enjoy seeing the hottest new styles for spring, summer or that special night out while learning about Rent the Runway. Best of all, the money raised will be donated to the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County and Prevent Child Abuse America.”
Jessica Cohen, a member of the event planning committee, and an intern with Rent the Runway, said that the SUNY Oswego students that will be modeling the fashions are choosing and renting their own styles for the evening and are happy to be donating their time for such a worthy cause as combating child abuse. “They are really looking forward to wearing fashions by designers such as Vera Wang, Hervé Léger, Versace and others. Everyone involved with this event is impressed with the work that the CAC does and the children and families that they serve in Oswego County. We are happy to host this event and lend our support to their efforts,” said Cohen.
The event will also feature music by DJ Tumbo and a performance by Nice and Ill. For more information on the Rent to Prevent Charity Fashion Show contact Gloria Grimaldi at 315-491-7829 or via e-mail at [email protected].
