OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Fire Department will hold an open house Oct. 4.

The hours will be from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the East Side Fire Station.

There will be tours of the fire station (sit in a fire truck) as well as The John D Murray Firefighters Museum, a puppet show, demonstrations, free drawings and more.

A repelling demonstration will be held at 10 a.m.

Refreshments will be served.

“Hopefully, people of all ages will come and enjoy our open house to kick off Fire Prevention week,” said First Assistant Fire Chief Jeffrey McCrobie.

“With our Eastside Fire Station being only one block from Pumpkin Fest, it is our hope that people will enjoy both events,” he added. “Fire Prevention week is a very important time for all to be reminded of the basics of fire safety, and we hope that the residents of the area join us on Saturday.”
